Level 1 Irrigation Technician

We are searching for a responsible, self-starter to join our Landscape Irrigation & Lighting Team.

Field General Duties:

  • Responsible for selling, estimating, and creating proposals for irrigation and lighting enhancements

  • Effectively manage service routes and installation projects

  • Ensure irrigation billing and invoicing is current, accurate, and timely

  • Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors, subcontractors, clients, and employees

  • Establish and conduct a weekly training schedule

  • Continually evaluate and improve Water Management practices

  • Actively solicit feedback from Landscape Construction division for Irrigation training

  • Attend weekly production meetings

  • Conduct scheduled One on Ones and performance reviews with all direct reports

 

Service:

  • Create, establish, and maintain best in class irrigation standards to be followed by all divisions

  • Work closely with Irrigation and Lighting Logistics Scheduler to proactively schedule seasonal services (evaluations, check, activation, blowouts, etc.)

  • Make recommendations or corrections in the areas of irrigation and water efficiency based on site plans

  • Administer inventory control and tracking for technicians that ties directly to invoices

  • Perform routine quality checks on technician service calls

 

Installation:

  • Review Irrigation and Lighting installation designs, project plans, and budgets for accuracy and standard conformity

  • Coordinate weekly Irrigation and Lighting schedule with Landscape Construction schedule to ensure maximum efficiency

  • Properly train installation crews on equipment usage, plan reading, installation techniques and Irrigation and Lighting standards

  • Meet with Foreman and Project Managers on-site to resolve issues and monitor progress

 

Systems Management:

  • Actively monitor KPI and utilize computer systems

  • Integrate new product offerings and thoroughly train Irrigation and Landscape Construction staff on products

  • Properly maintain electronic water management systems in place for clients

Experience

  • 3+ years leading or managing an irrigation division, or a branch, or region

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible roles from field to management

  • High volume, residential irrigation service and water management

  • Previous experience in training and leading crews in irrigation installations and service calls

  • Previous experience in implementing best practices and standards

  • Mastered knowledge of Irrigation controllers

  • Advanced knowledge in low voltage lighting

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted

  • Exposure to outdoor conditions

 

 

Benefits Summary:

  • Paid Time Off: All full-time salaried employees will earn ten days of paid time off (PTO) in their first year.  New employees are limited to taking a maximum of two days of PTO within their first three months. Employees receive an additional day off after two years of employment and accrue an additional .5 days of paid time off for every subsequent year of employment thereafter.

  • Paid Holidays, as listed in the company handbook.  They will be paid at the hourly rate and will not be used in determination of overtime hours.  Paid Holidays may include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (1/2 Day), Christmas Day.  If a paid Holiday falls on a weekend, said Holiday paid time off may be used, with approval, one week before or after the said Holiday.  If the day off is not taken, holiday pay will not carry over after the one-week period and holiday pay will not be paid out.  Must adhere to “Paid Time Off” policies as stated in the company handbook.

  • Health Insurance: All non-seasonal full-time employees are eligible for our health insurance benefits. Superior Landscape & Irrigation offers these employees and their families a health insurance plan through a major medical provider.

 

  • Waiting Period: There is a waiting period of 60 days from start of employment for eligibility. New applicants can enroll on the first of the month following their waiting period.
